RGB Networks Adds New CTO and International Sales Executive to Develop and Market the Company’s Next Generation of IP Video Solutions

Dr. Yuval Fisher and Rudi Polednik Bring Proven IP Video Expertise to RGB

Sunnyvale, California – September 10, 2009 – RGB Networks, the leader in network video processing, today announced the addition of two new executives tasked with developing and marketing video solutions based on Internet Protocol (IP). Dr. Yuval Fisher, a recognized visionary in IP video, is RGB’s new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and the company’s European and Asia Pacific sales organizations are now being overseen by Rudi Polednik in his role as Senior Director of International Sales. Previous to RGB, Fisher and Polednik worked together at Envivio, a company specializing in IP-based encoding solutions for telco, IPTV and mobile service providers.

“While we are doing tremendously well with our current product lines, our customers tell us that IP will become their predominant method for delivering video to TVs, PCs and mobile devices – and they are asking us to help them with solutions to meet this need,” said Jef Graham, CEO of RGB Networks. “Yuval and Rudi’s expertise will be of enormous assistance in meeting this challenge, building on our proven video technologies to develop and sell next-generation IP solutions that will help customers with legacy networks smoothly migrate to IP, as well as expand our market to include service providers which have already built their IP networks.”

As CTO, Fisher will work closely with RGB’s engineering, sales and marketing teams in overseeing the development of the company’s next-generation of IP-based video solutions, ensuring they meet the two goals RGB has for them. The first goal is to enable RGB’s existing customers to smoothly migrate to entirely IP-based networks in a straightforward and cost-effective manner. The second goal is to provide new customers the scalable IP platform that enables them to dramatically expand their services.

Complementing Fisher’s role, Polednik is leading the company’s sales effort in the European and Asia Pacific regions. He is overseeing RGB’s expanding international sales team and growing list of reseller partners, with a particular focus on growing sales to telecom carriers in addition to the company’s core cable operator customer base.

Fisher is a highly regarded video industry veteran with more than 20 years experience. He was deeply involved in the development of the MPEG-4 standard, heading up several working groups. At Envivio – which he co-founded – Fisher served as Chief Scientist, helping to develop the company’s MPEG-4/H.264 encoding products. Before Envivio, Fisher helped develop MPEG-4 products for Rockwell International, Conexant and France Telecom. He holds a Ph.D. in mathematics and a master’s degree in computer science from Cornell University.

Polednik is a seasoned sales executive who has spent more than 20 years in the telecommunications industry, where he has focused primarily on digital video products. Before joining RGB, he spent seven years with Envivio in a variety of senior sales and marketing roles.  In his time there, Polednik secured major deals with service providers worldwide, growing the company’s revenues more than five fold within four years. Before Envivio he held senior sales positions with Tiernan Communications, Paradigm Communications, Comstream and British Telecom. He earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Imperial College London.
